How it works
A CNAME record is a DNS entry that says "this subdomain points to that server". You create one record at the company that manages your domain's DNS (usually your registrar), and your trust page starts loading on your own subdomain. Zedrus detects the record and issues the SSL certificate automatically — there is nothing to install or upload.
| Type | CNAME |
| Name / Host | trust (the part before your domain — use whatever subdomain you chose) |
| Value / Target | zedrus.pages.dev |
| TTL | the default is fine (lower = changes propagate faster) |
Only subdomains are supported (e.g. trust.yourcompany.com) — a root domain like yourcompany.com can't be connected.
Any DNS provider
- Sign in where your domain's DNS is managed and find the screen listing DNS records (often called DNS, DNS Zone, Zone Editor, or Advanced DNS).
- Add a new record with the values from the table above.
- Save. DNS changes can take a few minutes to propagate (sometimes longer, depending on your provider).
- Back in the Zedrus editor, click Check status — when the record is detected, your domain flips to Active.
GoDaddy
- Sign in at godaddy.com → My Products.
- Next to your domain, choose DNS (or Manage DNS).
- Under DNS Records, click Add New Record.
- Type:
CNAME· Name:trust· Value:zedrus.pages.dev· TTL: default. - Click Save.
Namecheap
- Sign in → Domain List → Manage next to your domain.
- Open the Advanced DNS tab.
- Click Add New Record.
- Type:
CNAME Record· Host:trust· Value:zedrus.pages.dev· TTL: Automatic. - Click the green check to save.
Cloudflare
- Sign in at dash.cloudflare.com and select your domain.
- Go to DNS → Records → Add record.
- Type:
CNAME· Name:trust· Target:zedrus.pages.dev. - Set Proxy status to "DNS only" (click the orange cloud so it turns grey) — verification can stall behind Cloudflare's proxy.
- Click Save.
Squarespace (incl. former Google Domains)
- Sign in → Settings → Domains and select your domain.
- Open DNS Settings (domains moved from Google Domains land here too).
- Under Custom Records, click Add Record.
- Host:
trust· Type:CNAME· Data:zedrus.pages.dev. - Save.
Hostinger
- Sign in to hPanel → Domains and pick your domain.
- Open DNS / Name Servers → Manage DNS records.
- In Add a new record: Type:
CNAME· Name:trust· Target:zedrus.pages.dev· TTL: default. - Click Add Record.
DonWeb
- Sign in to your DonWeb panel → Mis dominios and pick your domain.
- Open the Zona DNS (DNS records) screen.
- Add a record: Tipo:
CNAME· Nombre:trust· Destino:zedrus.pages.dev. - Save. The default TTL (14400) works; a lower one makes changes apply sooner.
Troubleshooting
- Still "Pending DNS" after creating the record? Give propagation a few minutes first. If your record has been in place for a while and the status hasn't moved, click Retry verification in the editor — verification can occasionally stall, and the retry kicks it through (it usually activates within a minute).
- "A record with that name already exists." Edit or replace the existing record for that subdomain instead of adding a second one — a name can only have one CNAME.
- Changes feel slow? Some providers default to high TTLs (hours). The connection still works — but edits and removals take longer to propagate. You can lower the TTL when creating the record.
- Root domain? Not supported — connect a subdomain like
trust.yourcompany.cominstead. - Removing the domain: click Remove domain in the editor first (your page instantly goes back to its zedrus.com address); you can delete the DNS record any time afterwards.
